With a background in animal care, vet clinic reception, healthcare administration, and farm life, empathy is at the heart of everything I do. That care naturally flows into how I groom and treat your dog — with patience, kindness, and a focus on making them feel safe, comfortable, and respected. Grooming isn’t just a job to me — it’s a way to support the well-being of dogs and the people who love them.

Hi I’m Tash

Gisborne local with a big heart for dogs and a peaceful space where they can feel calm, cared for, and just a little bit pampered.

I’ve always worked gently with animals, and that’s how my grooming service came to be. Becoming Fear Free Certified was a deliberate choice, to give dog owners confidence and peace of mind in an unregulated industry.

Although I grew up in town, I spent most of my childhood in rural Gisborne, helping on a horse stud in Manutuke, rearing calves in Waipaoa, and embracing all that country life had to offer. Animals have always been a part of my life, and I’ve always felt most at ease in their company.

In my twenties, I worked in a local vet clinic and then in healthcare administration roles, but I always felt the pull back to animals. I wanted a life closer to home, where my own dogs and horses are, so I trained in dog grooming and never looked back.

After becoming certified, it didn’t take long to realise that many commercial grooming environments were rushed and overwhelming for some dogs and I knew I wanted to do things differently.

After months of thoughtful preparation, Country Lane Dog Grooming opened its doors in November 2023 — to my peaceful, home-based studio where I offer the kind of calm, individual care I believe every dog deserves.
